Ut oh…look who’s Craigslist shopping again. I found another midcentury record player that would be sweet! I love the style. It’s listed for $250.
Record player doesn’t work…does anyone know how much it would be to fix something like that?
Should I get it? If you said “yes,” want to help me convince the husband to get it?

Just add it to the list of things I need (want) for the house: new planters for the front porch. The storms last month knocked one of our planters over and it broke. Sad day. It was actually one of the planters we used at our wedding. We had four…now only one remains.
My first instict was to look at Ikea for replacements…but they don’t have anything that’s tall enough. I like these from CB2…they could look good with some tall grass And they’re not too expensive either.
I also like these square planters from Crate and Barrel, but they’re way more expensive.
I haven’t done much looking beyond those two options. I would love to incorporate more greenery up front (the current bamboo set up was looking a bit naked), but I’m not too good with keeping plants alive, so it’d need to be something hardy. Maybe I’ll add the planters to my list of things to search for on Craigslist…

I got caught Craigslist shopping again. And now I’m in a pickle. This is a cool couch…
…but we don’t need a couch. But, I kinda want to get it. I like the style. It has good lines. I love the tufting and the legs. I’m not sold on the fabric, but it’s not horrible. I could even reupholster it eventually. I’m guessing I could get it for $250, max.
Hmmm, that’s not really in the budget.
Oh, but I like it.
What’s a girl do to? (probably think about it, and then it’ll be sold by the time I make a decision…I’m good at that)

I have a little hobby called shopping on Craigslist. I have a running list of things I’d like for the house. They include a mid century record player/console that could double as a credenza, an Eames molded rocker, dining room furniture, rugs and very large art. Every once in a while I’ll pop on Craigslist and see if I can find a winner.
I’m what you’d call a bit particular, so it’s not often that I find THE thing I’ve been looking for. But this week, I found a perfect record player/console! It looked something like this:
It was perfect! But, alas, the asking price was $300. And that wasn’t quite in the budget (we have a pretty tight budget these days and it only includes planned things…). So, I hesitated.
And, now it’s sold. Big huge bummer. And so the search continues…
